I took out most of my interior on my project car to get it dyed, and now I think I will be working for a traveling company again meaning I'll be driving up to 10-15 miles straight on the interstate several times a week.

The car is very loud right now, but I know that is because of the interior not being in. But I went and bought some peel and seal, saw a buddy use it and it worked great for the price, and was wondering where the best places to put it is. I was wanting to put it on the floor from the hatch door to the front seats, I do not have back seats for traveling, but my hatch leaks in the back and I want to get that solved first.

Would it be a problem to place this stuff on the inside of all of the interior panels?

your just adding weight thats the only problem i see lol.....but yea sound deaden your trunk area thats quarters hatch gate and trunk floor more likely the noise and leak is comming possibly form a seal or inner fender in the rear if you have quarter rust... but yea depending on what model you have you already have sound deadening in the front cabin...might wanna sound deaden the doors as well....

The rolls of the peel and seal only weigh a few pounds and cover a pretty good amount. I would pick having a much quieter car on a 10 hour drive on the interstate than having a car that's loud but weighs 10-15 pounds less.


I also have another possibly weird question. I got a new hood put on the car, and it has no padding under it. What kind of material could I put under my hood to quieten that down as well? I was watching this show and it had this big piece of plastic that fits in the engine bay that you just pick up after opening the hood. Would it be a good idea if I made some type of fiberglass panel to fit under the hood, and have it bolt down, and paint it with heat resistant paint?

Sound deadener is great for stopping vibration and cutting down some noise, but if you are looking to really get rid of roadnoise you may want to use some closed cell foam as well.

Well I'm wanting the car to stay on a budget, but I did read about using some foam like Great Stuff. I actually have 2-3 cans of that, and was thinking about using it on the interior of some of the panels.
