are the intakes and headers and all those other random parts worth it to buy off ebay?

what im really asking is, do those "no name" parts function as well as name brand stuff or would i just be wasting my time/money?

for the intakes... the piping is fine, but the filters are junk. they aren't re-usabe like K&N. I've even seen them rust. Same goes for the hose clamps, they are cheap and will rust.

The headers I can't speak for as I never bought one from ebay, but I'm betting it's the same story.

The > $100 tubular turbo manifolds on ebay are known for cracking.
The cheap exhausts are known for sounding like ass because the sound packing burns out of them.

There's still some quality name brand stuff on ebay, you gotta dig for it though.

As said above - you get what you pay for. Name brand FTW :thumb:

well you could prob get away with the intake an header for now......BUT i would never buy cheap suspension parts, ride quality/comfort/reliability is worth saving up for.

Definatly dont go with the Ebay colovers. Lowering springs on stock struts will ride better.

as far as the header and intake. go for it.

good deals on suspension are out there. i got my full Apexi coilovers for a steal.

I used to run an ebay header before I boosted my car and it worked just fine, no complaints, if I needed another header I would definitely buy another ebay one.

On other parts of the car that are crucial to it running correctly, or not breaking down I wouldn't trust most of the stuff on ebay.

Dont buy headers from ebay, ive seen the the tubing break at the weld multiple times. That junk on ebay is cheap for a reason because its Junk. I have never had a good experience with ebay parts.

ive gotten the intakes and headers from ebay. so far everything has worked just fine. You do indeed get what you pay for, but it just on a D series, and I needed the parts, the they were the right price.

I have an eBay header and CAI on my Ek right now and I have no complains about it. But I did change the filter to a better one.

And please, stay away from those coilovers. I made the mistake of buying a set and putting it on my Da, rides like sh*t. Unless you just want a lowered car.

+1
spring rate on those things are always too stiff..
much better off going this route and if they are not low enough cut a few coils out of them.... at least thats what i have done and i digg em. just make sure you get progressive lowering springs (top few coils will be closer together than bottoms) this will give you a much better ride quality.

yeah it was said best
stock<ebay 'junk'<name brand
i always buy the ebay stuff right away, then upgrade later when i find good deals, then usually end up re-selling the ebay stuff for about the same amount as i bought it!
or if im building a car to re-sell to local kids!
just be sure to keep your old stuff for when the ebay parts fail.
