got a anodized aluminum strut bar.. its red and i'm wondering if i can remove the red to have a polished aluminum look. pretty much want it silver just not by way of paint... can i sand off the red finish?? or should i just by a new silver anodized one?? would it rust/pit without the coating?? maybe spray some urethane or whatever on it??

if it's aluminum, just use paint stripper to get it to bare metal. Then if you want, throw some clear coat on it, or use it as bare aluminum. If you use bare aluminum, keep it away from road salt in winter or it will get corrosion on the surface. You may want to polish it from time to time and keep a coat of wax on it. :thumb:

yup. stripper will remove all of the clear and paint back to bare metal. then you can wet sand watever is left to a polish look or clear it.
