Whats the best way to remove these without damaging the paint?? pick at them with fingernail? heat them???

I always used a heat gun to soften up the adhesive, a hair drier should work good as well, and then used goo-gone or lighter fluid to remove any residue.
Having a sweet mustache is half the battle.

you can get behind them with dental floss too.
