#204522 I'm in the process of painting my car championship white , but I would like to take off the exterior door handles. I havent even taken a look at how to remove them, but are they easily removed? I assume there are clips that hold them in, are they easily broken? I want the handles painted, but i don't think i can paint them well enough while they're on the car.

Thanks guys :thumb:

#204538 okay fellas here's a most easiest and pain free way.

1) you pop open the interior door panel (there are threads on this)
2) after the plastic wrap thing you will see the inside of the door handle
3) take out 2 of the bolts - YOU NOT DONE YET!
to avoid breaking the clip follow this - trust me!

1) open the door and you will see the door lock on the door and its held by three more bolts
2)take out these phylips screws/bolts and drop it in and take out the door handle.

sorry i cant be detailed, its been a while, but its self explanatory, but you need little direction in the beginning :)

also the window track might be in the way so you can move it by taking the bolt on the bottom (follow the track)

of you got questions just post it up :thumb:

you sure that a piece of plastic is broke cause it could be the need to adjust the travel of the arm...

#204548 Its a small piece,i was thinking it was used to hold the spring in place.
I think i did all of that.Coz then i took the wire clip off that holds the lock
in the handle.
but couldnt find a way to get the handle completely free or out.
