ok so i wanna primer my car myself..once i primer it is there anything extra i have to do?? cuz i plan on leavin it primered for a while till i save up money for an actual paint job..and should i sand it down to metal or just wet sand it??

If you prime it and leave it for ages before paint the primer could absorb water, if you baked the car prior to painting that might dry it out but to be honest i wouldnt risk it, just save it till you can prime it and get it painted at roughly the same time

you still risk moisture being absorbed. Primer is a porous surface, not sealed like paint.
Then again you're in CA where it might rain 2x a year

If you keep it dry you will be better off.

ya you can prime it, but before you go to paint you gotta sand it down and reprime the car.. so its up to you..

Couple of months = ages. It wouldnt be me, if it gets moisture in it then you paint it it'll fuck up when it's baked. Up to you though!!

But the primer on the car could still have moisture in it, meaning you would have to rub it all off or dry it very thoroughly, and you'd be doing the job twice over basically... This makes no sense to me, why cant you just leave your car alone, then prep, prime and paint all at the same time
