Can I go above stock offset?

Hi
I'm thinking of getting some alloys for my '92 hatch which has the factory 14x5 wheels and 185/60 tyres at the moment. I've seen some 15x6 I really like but they are Honda Jazz wheels with an offset of 53mm. The thing is, I've only heard of people having wheels with less offset, never more. Is it OK to go above the standard offset and, if so, would there be enough clearance on a Civic with these wheels and 195/50 tyres?
I've looked on the 'rimsntyres' calculator and it says that the wheels will be 13mm closer to the suspension which is acceptable for most cars, but I just wanted to double check with you guys that it is acceptable on a Civic and the wheels won't touch anything. Bye the way, my car isn't lowered at all.

Cheers

I've seen Fit/Jazz wheels on EG's before and they fit just fine :thumb:
The offset is a little higher, but the wheels themselves aren't very wide, so there is no contact on the inner edge.

Thanks, that's just what I was hoping for.

Fit wheels are pretty common to see on EGs and you definitely won't run into any issues fitting them on the car. :thumb: I personally think they look great.
