15" tire on a 14" wheel??

take me out of doubts please i got some bbs basket weaves 14" that came with 195 60 14 but i was thinking of running like a 195-40-15 or 195-50-15 is this doable??

No unless your rims are 3 piece and you replace the barrel and lips with 15" ones. I've never seen it done with 14" to 15" though.

Better yet i want lower profile tires but i dont see 195-50-14 anywhere
how do i got about getting that???

Toyo proxes makes a 195/45r14, model t1-r. It's going to throw the speedo off and leave the wheel wells looking empty though. 195/60r14 has some good tire options. Check out the stickied tire calculator thread :thumb:

exactly my plan i wanna drop but with these tires it already rubs on the back when ever some one sits down there

I have 185/60/14s now and with alot of low, they only rub at dips in the road. you might wanna try the same size.

so its fine if i go a differen path like using 185 or 205 right? because my friend who use to work at firestone told me that woulndt be safe and what not

Not sure why he said 185 was a bad idea,,, 185/60r14 is the oem tire size for our cars. How wide are those bbs?

Yeah they will fit but there might be a very slight stretch on a 6.5" wheel. 185/60R14 is what came on our civics with 14" steelies and those were only 14x5.5

It all depends on what you want to go for. What size are on the wheels now?

195-60-14 and they seem to thick for my liking and dont allow me to go lower

185 is 10mm thinner than a 195 tire. 60 is the sidewall height, so that would be pretty much the same tire, just a little skinnier.
