caliper clearance...

went to put a set of HX's on my friends '02 coupe and they're hitting the calipers. I'm pretty sure i can just grind some off the caliper.
question is, if i can get it to roll straight back and forth its good right?? don't wanna go out on the test drive and on the first turn have that shit bind up...

I'd recommend a 5mm spacer over grinding unless you only take off a tiny bit.
Doesn't 2002 come with a 15" wheel? stepping down to a 14" would mean you'd have a larger sidewall.
185/65/15 is stock size. So you'd need a 70 or 75 series sidewall on a 14" rim on that car.

it had steelies/caps on it with 185/65/14's...
the same as whats on the HX's...
there's just like i little ridge on the face of the caliper sticking out bout an 1/8th of an inch... how much do wheel spacers run??

couple mins with the angle grinder and they're spinnin free.
