- Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:15 pm #185949 I, with not much experience, changed my front brakes a few weeks ago. I think i did everything fine but while I'm driving, not braking, there is a squeaking noise. When i apply the brake, it stops. HELP.

What did i do wrong and how do I fix it?

did u just get new pads? or rotors too?
or did the rotors get resurfaced

my instructor said that cheap pads will squeak.. so maybe ur fine its just the shitty quality of the pads

- Wed Apr 07, 2010 2:08 am #185979 There's that special grease that you can put behind the pad to prevent the squeaking. It comes in little plastic packets and they usually have it up by the counter at autozone.

- Sun Apr 18, 2010 3:10 pm #188430 I buy the cheap ones to, but ive never had a problem like that. Are you hard on your brakes? I think the pads u got was just a poorly made one.

They were still under warranty so i got my money back.
