Our chassis wheel base really isn't large enough to accommodate a 17" rim as it should be. It'll look odd and too big.

1.5" or 37.5mm is usually a decent drop on 15-16" rims. It depends on your arches and if they're rolled or not also, and what width tire you're using.
If you can find springs with a 30-40mm drop that'd probably be a safe bet, as far as lowering springs go...

1.5" drop with 15 or 16" rim will left how much gap in between tyre and fender?
i m using 205/40/17 tyre. is that mean i need more than 1.5" drop, something about 1.75-2"?

Here's my drop on a 15" rim. The springs were on when I purchased but I believe it's about 1.5".
They're either 195s or 205s, so the only difference with yours is it'll be perched a little higher, but not a whole lot. There is no gap, there's a slight overlap between arch and tire.

They seriously look like some cheap, painted ebay springs.
It's not a huge drop though, my best guess is that it's 1.5", and that's pretty much the standard for lowering springs.
If you drop 30-40mm you shouldn't have any clearance issues, although maybe someone else with authority on the subject can chime in?

Baxter, you did get rid of that wing right? lol. Can't help but to mess with ya.
So those were some cheapo ebay coilovers? that drop looked nice!

lol the wing is beside my house, on my old rusted, rotted trunk lid
The drop might be nice, but I don't suppose they'll last very long, especially on stock struts I believe.
As soon as I get the money I'll be upgrading to coilovers, but they'll do the trick for now.
