when i am driving i hear a weird noise when i go over bumps, its like a thumping noise and it sound like it is coming from the front struts, some people said maybe its the ball joints or something, others say its the struts, but i dont know what it is and it is getting so frustrating. any ideas would be helpful, it started since i bought the car but i bought the car as is, so not like i can take it back for any work. and i want to know if it is something that i can fix myself. thanks alot

Whats the suspension set up thats on the car?? Stock?? Aftermarket??

if its stock, it could be the strut mounts, or if its just a set of coilovers, it could just be them rattling around.

yes its the stock set up, i want to eventually get an aftermarket set but want to figure out what this is first because i dont have the money yet to put an aftermarket set in yet. so any idea on what it is? is it something that i deffinatly have to fix or is it something thats not really matter too much and it can wait till i get a new set up?

Sounds like your shocks are blown, and you're only riding on the springs at this point.

you really think so? do you know where i can get some cheap struts till i can get some good aftermarket ones?

Dont waste money on the same thing twice. Just ride how you are till you can afford a nice set up.
