#237716 Hi there, just a quick question. I know the eg and integra have very similar chassis as in conponents fitting wise so by swapping all the steering and suspension components could you make it handle like an itr?

Thanks for time

#237827 Suspension is infinitely adjustable and upgrade-able. You can make it handle better than anyting else out there, or as sloppy as a 1986 Ford Escort.

#237828 stock itr suspension will be hella better then ur stock civic, but like mention, why not make it better, people are gonna over price there itr parts cux they came off a itr, just do ur research and pick the right suspension parts, and if u upgrade to handle better then a itr, then track it, u dont need 6000 dollar suspension and it only sees the freeways

#238544 They are the same chassis, for the most part. The Type R just has some extra bracing added in places. All you really would have to do is swap in the type R sway bars, and other suspension components. The only thing that might be different is the weight distribution because of the weight of a B-series vs D-series as well as the weight of the different body panels.

I think honda only used two or three chassis designs. I have a buddy that used to do auto body stuff and they had a civic and a cr-v (1st gen, I think) apart and the chassis/subframes were identical.

That's fair, but part of what makes a type R handle so well is the way the springs are set up as well. The Type R has progressive springs in the rear. But yes with the amount of aftermarket goodies for the Honda world there really is no reason to try to swap out OEM suspension parts, unless you can get them cheap, or you are trying to conform to a class of some sort for racing. You can make your Civic handle better than a stock ITR without a whole lot of trouble.
