anyone good with lowering springs

i just put on some motegi SX5 wheels on my civic and my tire size is 205/40/17 i want to lower the car bout an inch.......could i put springs on my stock struts (they r new) and if so what kind should i use......i need help people

you can put lowering springs on stock struts, but it will shorten their life. The more the drop the more it will kill the stock struts.
If good handling is your goal, then you might as well upgrade the struts while you have the suspension apart. Even something like AGX or Tokico HP's are better than stock. :thumb:

those are big wheels/tires for a civic.
depending on the offset, you might not be able to drop very much, without rolling the fenders.
you should probably get adjustable sleeves or coilovers.

17's should sit ok but yeah it depends on the offset. Eibach has two springs pro line 1-1.5 and sportline I think is 1" check it out. I would get better struts though.

all i really want is bout an inch just enuff 2 drop it over the tire a bit
