shaky car when going over 50 mph

the previous owner of my car (EG8), has 4 different brand tires and one of the tire are slashed but repaired. 2 of the front tires are sized 215/40/17 and the back are sized 205/40/17.....could this be the problem of my shaky car? the steering wheel would shake back and forth instead of left and right. almost liek the steering wheel is goin bust loose. when i go over 50-55 mph the shakig would persist and gets worst going even more faster....anybody knows what could be the cause of this shake? a couple of my co-wrokers who works on DSMs told me it could be my wheel bearings (which the previous owner replaced) or the hub bearings, but he also commmented that it could be anything from tie rods to bushings.....

Having different sizes front and back shouldn't be a huge deal as the front 2 are the same. It sounds like somethings up with tires themselves, I would recommend swapping tires/rims to test if the tires are the issue,

If you dont have anouther set of 4x100 Rims I would recommend swapping the back tires to the front and see if that helps, if it still has the issue swap driver and passaneger tires, if that doesn't fix it I would look deeper into your suspension setup.

I wouldn't be driving very fast on tires that were previously slashed & repaired.
Try swapping wheels from back to front as suggested and see if that starts to help.
