I had some extra time between customers today so I decided to compare this sub enclosure with everything else we have in the sound room. BTW everything in the sound room is powered off the same sub/head unit.
It was louder/tighter than a 12 inch Type R in a ported, pre-fab box!
It wasn't quite as loud as another 12 inch Type R in a custom enclosure built by my shop manager. It was tighter, but he says that ported boxes sound better in the car than in the sound room.
It was louder than a 12 inch JL in a pre-fab box.
We have some kicker built boxes with kicker subs that were somewhat louder and equally as tight.
We have a Kicker L5 in a small box that sounds good but definitely doesn't play as low.
We have a 15 inch Eclipse in a small box that sounds like a 10 inch. Definitely need a custom box for that one.
Of everything in the room, I'd say it came in 3rd in loudness behind the Kicker built boxes and the shop managers Type R ported box. In sound quality i'd put it in 2nd to the Kicker built boxes.
