#335270 Didn't that give you too much voltage? USB needs to be 5V, right? How do you step it down from 12V?

HeikDiesel wrote:Why not use the relayed and fused ports in the fuse panel already set up for accessories like fogs. Just check them with a meter to make sure one is powered for accessory and on. There should be 4-5 of them at the top of the fuse block under the dash. Use a single spade connector and ground the usb charger to chassis and you should be good to go.

This.
Don't tap off an existing circuit.
The pinouts for the option outputs are here: http://www.civic-eg.com/causeforalarm/e ... ox_outputs

#335499 Finally got it hard wired in.
Here's what i did:

Ran a wire from the Fuse box to a power regulator from a 12v adapter.

Bought a USB Header

Cut an opening in my dash and connected the USB header

cut the end off the USB Header and connected it to the power regulator

I had to modify the cluster to allow room for the header

then put everything back in place

then i made a USB cable

and what it looks like all done with the cable
