So I'm having some issues retaining memory in my head unit. I have 12 volts coming out of the red power wire but only 4 out of the yellow. My stereo wouldn't even power up until i spliced the red wire into the harness for the headunit's red and yellow wires. Is the yellow wire supposed to read around 4? Or is it supposed to be at 12? This is getting very annoying. Thanks in advance!

check the backup fuse under the hood, i had a similar problem and it turned out to be the fuse.
