so i did this as shown in the picture, and now the car wont fire. fuel pump is brand new and it primes (walbro 255)

anyways incase u cant read my beautiful art work ill explain it

the 4 yellow/black wires on injectors, i spliced them into the 4 black wires on the resistor box. then the yellow/black wire thats all the way on the top left that goes to ECU i spliced the red wire from the resistor box into.

NOTE: i did not disconnect any wires nor did u remove that plug from the connector where all the yellow/black wires are..

heres the pic!

also I just read somewhere that the "power block" where the 8 yellow/black wires come toghter the little "end plug" that grounds them needs to be taken out???? is that why mine wont fire up, cuz the plug is still in there?

do a search on here for "resistor box" or look in the DIY thread.

There's a better diagram in there :thumb:

I actually did for once and i was looking at it but i cant figure out why it wont fire up.. am i missing something?

FALSE ALARM

anyways i found my problem why it wasnt firing

the "input wire" the yellow/black one that goes to ECU wasnt pushed in all the way into the connector. Well it fired up now, but how do i know that the resistor box is "resisting" them lol

man when it fired oh i was like thank god!!! :jerkbow:

Your car isn't running like ass and your ECU won't be fried :hehe:

Sounds like you got it :thumb:

what are the sypmtoms of running like ass? idle really low? and sound like its missing?

and last question of the night, by tuning the car when they tune it, is it possible to chip it so that its not needed to have a resistor box?

Good question, and I'm probably wrong here so feel free to correct me, but I'm pretty sure the injector driver circuit of the ECU can't be modified. You would have to go standalone (or get saturated injectors).

That would be nice, but I've never heard of it being done, so I would guess no. It sure would make things easier though...

why is the world full of cock suckers why couldnt every honda just have a resistor box sitting in it for the hell of it. i cant get my hands on a DVOM to try n ohm it out to make sure its all working.

i mean i fired it up last night and it was running even worse then b4 when i didnt have the resistor box...... :x

ah well, taking it to the tuner at 11:00 AM tomorrow.. he said with my stock exhaust he can give me 250 whp. with 3" pipe w/ big muffler he can give me 300 whp

Well he can't give you any hp if your car isn't running right.

Why don't all Hondas have resistor boxes? Uh, well, they do up until 1992.

No you can't "chip" an ECU. You need the injector driver. Even standalones need need it. Notice the heat fins on that resistor box. That's not something easily contained in an ECU.

yeah my ECU almost learned that the hard way thank god i didnt fry it (i think) lol it still starts so im guessing its not fried, and the tuner told me the ECU just needs to be tuned idk wil see i guess 2maro will tell everything..

and also to correct you a 95 prelude has a resistor box along w/ my buddies accord...... so your kinda wrong on the 92 part. :hehe:

you said: why couldnt every honda just have a resistor box

he said: all hondas had resistor boxes until 1992

he responded to your statement. And yes they are in some newer than 92's but not all.

easy killar, unless you want the helpful people to stop helping you
