Car: 95 Civic VX.

Problem:

Check engine light on. Code 17 Vehicle speed sensor.

Idles up and down.

Speedometer stuck around 20mph while driving at freeway speeds.

Replaced speed sensor from the dealership.

Check engine light still on with code 17.

Any ideas? Is this a common problem?

I also have problem with my gauges

when im at a constant speed of 40km/h sometimes my needle jump to 100km/h then go down to my real speed...

I just replace my gauges but it still happening

what seems to be the problem?

update:

replaced the speedo head in the cluster.

The guage does not read above 40mph on the hwy and sometimes it falls down to 20mph.

I get a check engine light 17 (VSS).

Replaced the VSS and the Speedo head.

Still problem exists.

Anyone share a similar story and how they fixed it?
