#257790 on a post in this category it said that p30 ecu came out of a del sol sohc vtec (d16z6), so if im currently running a p28 in an eg 4r could i convert to p30 and just use 93 gas?? or is it not that simple.

#257808 X2 on what teal said.

The Delsol VTEC trim came with the B16a3(93-95) and B16a2(96-97). The P30 ECU is has the timing and fuel maps for a DOHC VTEC engine, a SOHC VTEC Engine will not run correctly on those maps and it is possible to damage your engine running it on the wrong ECU.

Running the p30 ecu will not increase the amount of power your d16z6 will produce. If you want to get more power you can get your p28 "Chipped and tuned" by a respectable tuner in your area. Do not get a "performance base map" installed on your ecu, It will only result in your engine needing to be replaced shortly. Get a Dyno tuned program installed on your ecu. If you dont have the money to do that now ($399 n/a, $499 boosted) then put your money into bolt ons like a Better intake manifold(such as skunk2), Cold air intake, performance header and exhaust. Unless you have these getting a professional tune wont make much since anyways.
