you could check it using a test light. It's a cheap and useful tool for finding shorts, everyone should have one
But chances are if the clutch switch is bad, your car would not start even when the clutch is pressed to the floor like it should.
Automatics actually have a blue interlock box up in the dash on the driver's sine but I don't think manual cars have them.
