questions about ignition tumblers for 92 hatch

the steering column mount for my ignition is broke and it just hangs there... i want to buy a replacement, but my question is...........does it matter if it's out of a manual or auto car? i can't find them new anywhere...OEM new anyway... i dont want to buy a used one that's out of an auto and find out it doesn't work right...
any help would be great. thanks.

I actually do think it matters -- this is just from memory but I will have a look. Are you referring to the whole ignition assembly or just the key tumbler part? If it's just the tumbler then I don't think this matters, but if it's the entire assembly then yes.

Yeah..I need the whole thing. Mine is broken off the post. Where the mount is for the steering column

Yes, so you need it from an MT.
