You should not do this.
There are several grounds on the ECU.
There are sensor reference grounds that go to your thermostat housing. Messing with the resistance here will affect how the car runs.
There is a ground for ECU power but if you cut this, the circuit may find ground through one of the other circuits and that could be bad.
At the very least, you're erasing your ECU memory all the time so it will never run optimally.
The best thing to do is put your kill switch on your main relay ground. The main relay has a solid black wire, sometimes branched into two. Cut here and place your switch. It is safe to extend this wire since it's low current. There should be a how to on this site.
