ok i did asainrobs diy city lights and i love em
but when i turn on my headlights the city light stays on, which is fine but id like to have them off when my headlights are on,

IM NOT GONNA HOOK EM TO A SWITCH OR MY FOGS

so thats why im coming to you guys
is there away i can hook em up to turn off when the headlights turn on
like a relay set up or wire them to something that turns off when the headlights are on.

I say keep em oem ...always on but I've searched this a long time ago only way was switch cuz nothing turns off when headlights turn on

i forgot about this
i figured it out

since i have hid's and they are on my low beams
so what i did was hook the power wire for the city lights to my high beams

so when im driving with my city on during the time there needed
my high beams are on which turns on the city lights and when i need to turn on my hid's the city lights turn off

hell yea.

ya it took me a few hrs to figure it out lol

this wouldnt work 4 me as i have bi-xenon's....next solution???

Need a NC reed switch

basically the NC reed switch is always closed, or always supplying power to the city lights. The electromagnet would have a ground that is always attached, than you just put a "leg" off the power wire to your headlights. It doesn't take much to turn these magnets on so i doubt it will have a performance drain on your lights. When the magnet turns "ON" it breaks the connection of the reed switch therefore turning your city lights "OFF". Of course it would be a good idea to try and seal all this in a plastic box of some sort to make it look clean and discrete ...

I'm sure there is probably already a switch out there that is already built and composed but i felt like being creative.

Could use a hot glue gun or even just some epoxy to "glue" the components into the box.
