Off Topic - Positive Ground Vehicle

The vehicle im working on has a positive ground, that is also master switched.
I need to put a radio in it thats made for a regular 12v positive car.
how can this be done?
its not as easy as it sounds.
ive tried taking the power dirrectly off the battery but i am unsuccesful.
i think it can be done with a relay, i just need a second opinion in wiring it up.
