Ignition switch

Hey guys, long time lurker, but now have a question I cannot seem to find the answer to.

I bought a non-running 93 civic dx for 400 bucks, replaced the ignition coil, and fixed her 8) However, someone had hacked at the ignition switch that is attached to the key lock cylinder, and it seems they cannot be found for our civics.

They sell 4th gen ignition switches, and 6th gen ignition switches, but no 5th gen? I don't need the aluminum casing and lock cylinder, and definitely do not feel like shelling out $300+ for the entire setup, I just need the ignition switch because they hacked the wires to short to solder, and tired of having my generic ignition switch dangling down between my legs.

So question is, will a 6th gen ignition switch work in a 5th gen? Do they have the same connectors and will it bolt up to my aluminum housing?

(can't post link until I have a first post lol)

Will this work? It looks the same, just curious if anyone has a definite answer. Thanks.

your best bet would be to go to your local junkyard and pull one out that way its cheap.

True, was hoping to be able to find a new one though if possible, especially due to the whole honda ignition switch recall that didn't affect our particular generation supposedly. The reason it was hacked up was supposedly because he thought the ignition switch went bad and attempted to hotwire it I assume. (He only managed to get the the door alarm to work lmao) But he did manage to cut the damn wires way to short for butt connectors and soldering wont seem to work, and would like it to just be fixed right anyways... but yeah, junkyard might end up being my only option...

Any changes to the switch depending on the year? 93 vs 95 o whatnot?
