- Wed Nov 26, 2008 3:50 am #80426 i realize that.. but even when the cars warm and has been running it still doesnt. i just figured vtec only engages under certain circumstances like you said. the only thing is he disconnected the light before he actually drove cause he didnt figure it worked. haha so ill have him reconnect it and find out. thanks!

- Mon Jan 19, 2009 5:02 pm #90126 yea and vtec also wont engage if the car isn't moving, vtec also runs off speedo so if the car isn't moving, vtec isn't engaging

hey guys i was just wondering vtec should work sitting still right? if you just rev up. a buddy of mine has this done and hes using a 12 volt light so he shouldnt need a resistor cause the signal sent to the vtec solenoid is a 12 volt signal.
but when he revs up sitting still it doesnt kick on.
ive been looking around on here and from what im reading if im taking it the right way the 12 volt light should come on whenever the signal is sent so whenever vtec is enabled the light should come on.
sitting still or not..
i was just wondering. looking for some advice about it.
i have a light put in just havent wired it up.

wait so if i buy a plain 12volt light for my vtec light i wont have to wire in any resistors??

All of your air ducts will light up during vtec

- Thu Sep 29, 2011 7:05 pm #275288 i know this is sort of an old convo but i put one of these in 2 summers ago and it recently helped me a few weeks ago.

I was haing oil pessure problems and i replaced everything i could thats bolt on... i.e. oil pump, sending unit, new oil, etc... but i was still having oil issues and vtec WAS hitting (jdm b16a with stage 1 skunk2 cams i could definaty hear the crossover...) about a week after that i tried hitting vtec (6000rpm) ... light came on but no crossover

so it helped diagnose that i was getting the signal just not oil pressure to engauge vtec.

now building for boost lol
