Checking to see if this is the right ECU for my d16z6, I had an old broken one then I got this one and the car still sputters into each gear and idles a little bit poor even with this one when the mechanic told me it was my ECU.
Inside of my P28
Numbers read 37820-P28-A51, 761-206941
A p28 with OBD1 DOHC? My car is a d16z6. Maybe just a different cover?

it looks like that ecu used to be chipped, thats probably why it says DOHC VTEC on it. if it still having the problem with this ecu then most likely its not a ecu problem. was it giving you any codes with your old ecu or with this one?

Well the story is I had another d16z6 when I bought the car and had rod knock and just got a junkyard d16z6 with 50,000 miles on it. I had a mechanic install it and before the engine swap the ecu worked good then i had this junkyard engine with the same ECU and ran rough and the mechanic said I need a new ECU and I looked at my ECU and in the top left corner there was a fried piece, then I got this new one from a guy and it fixed nothing. I guess the old engine light said ECU with their diagnostics and with this new one it said Oxygen sensor so I replaced it and now reads nothing. I just got a new fuel filter, cap and rotor. Mechanic did a full engine flush when swapped with the coolant and new oil and spark plugs so maybe check my spark plugs and fuel injectors?

the sticker on the cover would make me suspicious that the ecu was modified at some point.
I'd look for a virgin P28

Yes I may do that, but I posted a thing on craigslist saying I will pay them to meet up so I can try their ECU in their car to make sure. It just sounds like a fuel problem. Maybe the fuel injectors are dirty or faulty spark plugs hmm.
