94 ex sppedo not working...

speedo will sometimes work and will sometimes or jump around and most of time is not been working at all, not sure what it could be, was thinkin maybe either VSS or whole gauge cluster, and ideas please let me know, i hate driving by the tach lol

heh, i got the same problem. from what ive gathered it could be three things. speedo sensor, the cluster, or the wires running to and from. i think you might be able to swap internals from certain other honda clusters like from a da teg but not too sure on the details unfortunately... but until then ex ftw!!! cruise and tach got yo back! :thumb:

like you said or the other guy did.
easiest thing to check is the cluster, find someone else with one to swap in quickly. alot easier then the VSS

Mine was doing that and it finally pegged out at about the 160mph mark(straight down and all the way around). I pulled the cluster and resoldered the points in the speedo cause they were old and cracked, after I did that, the speedo works great. Takes about 1.5 hrs from start to finish.

did you have to take the whole cluster apart? if you did was it hard to do?

why dont we just take my cluster and put it in yours and see if thats the problem bro?

Yeah, you just take out the cluster (not hard) take the screws out of the speedo section and it will come out and expose the sauder points. Heat the points and add sauder if needed. Should take care of your troubles, pm me if u need guidance.
