Denji Projectors, HID Retrofit Question.

Bulbs are h4 hi/lo 4300k 55W lights. Bulbs have "h4l" on them. I was planning on putting this into the projector side of my Denji's, Then wiring up the high beams to run both high beam on the HID, as well as the Denji High Beam.
My Questions is if I need to Retrofit my Projector in order to have light output that doesn't suck. Or is Retrofitting a Necessity to have Decent light output.
Anyone have Pics of HID in Denji's with No Retrofit?
