im throwing a vehicle speed sensor and i just bought one from a junk yard and still no speed?

i took out the dash and unplugged the gauge cluster and checked the wires but still nothing.. i was working for awhile but its back and now it wont move...

help?

maybe it is your harness... check the wiring if you replaced the VSS and the problem still exists. Or the junk yard VSS was bad too.

no still nothing it comes and goes but usually in 4th gear idk this is weird

check the harness that goes into your ecu... the wire for the speed sensor might not be in all the way or ripped, mine was. i think its yellow and in the middle plug.

no and got a new ecu for the right engine and still nothing.. speed only turns on in 4th

did you get it fixed ...my boy had the same problem and it was his plug it was soo corroded that he wasnt gettin any connection except late 3 beggining 4th then anything after 3200 it would cut out
