either pick up the stock ECU for that motor, or get the car tuned and have the p72 chipped to run your motor correctly.
the motor would start up and possible run on the p72 but the fuel maps and everything else would not be right and could cause some problems. good luck

you need to convert the motor to OBD1 to run a P28 or P72 which would BOTH need chipped to run that motor

You will want to have either the stock ecu for the engine (P13) or get an OBD1 P28(d16z6) or OBD1 P72(B18c1) and get them tuned to run your engine.
If you just plug in a P72, dont be surprised when it runs like crap and backfires alot. They dont have the correct fuel/ingation maps to run your engine correctly.
EDIT: Juice beat me to it.

if the engine is an obd1 engine then yeah but you will need a tune unless you get the jdm ecu for that motor.
